Overview & plans
This page covers self-service plans for the hosted public cloud. Private cloud and on-premises deployments are scoped and priced individually; contact Steinkauz to discuss one for your organization.
Within the public cloud, Steinkauz offers two independent choices:
- Who pays — an Individual subscription or an Organization subscription per billable seat
- How inference runs — Gateway (included budget, Steinkauz routes requests) or BYOK (your provider keys, you pay providers directly)

Gateway plans
With a Gateway plan, you use Steinkauz’s managed provider connections. You do not need your own API keys. Your plan includes an inference budget that renews each billing period.
Included: Access to a wide set of models, provider ordering and whitelist, optional zero data retention, and all BYOK configuration options if you also connect your own providers.
- Individual: One System Gateway Budget for Personal context (allocate in Settings → Budgets).
- Organization: Paid seats fund a System Gateway pool. Admins allocate that zero-sum money mass across billable members and API allocation in Settings → Budgets—not independent fixed grants with no shared pool.

BYOK (Bring Your Own Key)
With BYOK, you add your own API keys for the providers you want. You pay those providers directly; Steinkauz does not bill you for inference. You still need an active BYOK plan (individual or per seat on organizations) to use the product. BYOK stays uncapped by Steinkauz until you set optional Budgets in Settings → Budgets.
Included: Choose which supported providers to enable, set an execution environment on each, configure your routing matrix, and use Auto or Manual sensitivity per chat.
